DS Song Cycle Notes
Someone <waves at Mrs. Fish <g> asked me to give info on the songs, which seems
like a good idea, so, even though I did them all from memory...
- "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?" was both written and recorded by
Michael Bolton. <waves at Lizbet, who gets the musical trivia star for the day!>
- "The Beat Of A Different Drum"-- I finally found this on a lyrics web page. It's
actually titled "Different Drum," by Mike Nesmith, recorded by Linda Ronstadt.
- "On My Own" is from the musical Les Miserables.
- "Blue Moon" is a classic-- Gershwin maybe? Nope, I was wrong... finally looked
it up and it's good ol' Rodgers & Hart. ;-)
...and, even though I put these in the notes...
- "Libera Me" is part of the Catholic Church's Latin Office
for the Dead (the version I know and used is from Faure's Requiem)
- "The Last Night of the World" is from the musical Miss Saigon.
- "What I Did For Love" is from the musical A Chorus Line.
- "Angel of the Morning" is by Chip Taylor (or so I am told). Per several
people who responded to the posting, the version I probably learned was
the remake by Juice Newton. Mrs. Fish gets the "Name That Tune" Gold Star
of the Week for pinning the original artist as Merilee Rush.
- "Matchmaker, Matchmaker" is from the musical "Fiddler on the Roof" (For you
trivia types, even though I didn't use anything but the title here ;-)
