This started in an attempt to settle a random dispute with Deb Menikoff-- Chatting over the first couple of Vengeance Unlimited episodes, I pointed out that I thought Chapel was using up his favors at about twice the rate he was accumulating them; she maintained he was keeping even. Not having enough to do one day, I decided to start counting. :)
Now it's more just one of those weird, pointless, random fan things that prove some people have too much time on their hands. :) (I'll be updating as I start to go into serious withdrawl and find time to re-re-watch the earlier eps.... should anyone actually care.)

| . | . | The IRS guy both harassed and was properly harrassed as per orders. | |
| . | . | Bradford gets the "It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it!" award for the week. | |
| . | . | And the kid paid off by covering up the fact that KC saved his @$$ when he chickened out of the whole favor set-up and tried to turn them in. (Complete loss there, except for how amused I am by the kid assuming Chapel wants him to 'take care of' KC permanently. <snicker> The kid reads too many dime novels, and Chapel forgets how scary he can come across sometimes. ;-) | |
| down two so far... | (starting the running totals here until I can back up) | ||
| . Vendetta |
|||
| . | . | Even trade with Otto -- help with the set-up, for a job as one of the 'cool guys' | |
| . | . | Teresa Greco now owes him the requisite favor | |
| . | . | He calls in the favor from the woman in "Eden" at the bank. (And gotta love the time warp on that kid... say _2 years_ since "Eden"? I don't think so!) | |
| -2 | Holding even this ep... | ||
| . Confidence |
|||
| . | . | The initial couple owes as the clients | |
| . | . | The guy who loaned KC the office space has paid up | |
| . | . | The chef's done his part | |
| . | . | The unsuspecting sucker-to-be #2 owed for the tip-off... and paid up by going along with Chapel's skeezy gigolo routine | |
| . | . | The bartender paid off his favor (or his girlfriend's, whatever), whether he meant to or not. | |
| . | . | The health inspector is apparently even for his favor as well | |
| . | . | And, finally, the parking valet did his part | |
| -6 at this point | Geez, was he using them up, right, left, and center this ep or _what_? | ||
| . Judgment |
|||
| . | . | O.K., for starters, the vet (once he showed) made good big time. :) | |
| . | . | The call to Mr. Paladin is obviously an ongoing thing... | |
| . | . | ... as is the ongoing scripted calls from the prison Don. ;-) | |
| now it's -7 | Well it isn't clear what favors may have been used up in the original plan to get the money, but it seems clear Chapel wasn't picking up a favor in the process. (Except, as Celli pointed out at the "Joe Six-Pack" comment-- "Wow, I guess _everyone_ really does owe him a favor!" ;-) | ||
| . Clique |
|||
| . | . | I'm presuming the high-powered specialist KC was offering to the police "pro bono" was another favor called. | |
| . | . | The dentist... (and may I just say *ow*!) | |
| . | . | Unfortunately, if the 'client' was in a position to pay up someday, there would have been no need... hence it's another freebie. | |
| and we're at -9 | Deb, I think you're losing serious ground... <g> | ||
| . Critical |
|||
| . | . | O.K.! Penalty called for gratuitious use of favors! Highly amusing, granted! <g>... but he used up at least 10 just for that one cafeteria stunt, and that's not even counting... | |
| . | . | ...the guy asking for change out on the street. (Chapel's just started printing up the "we're even" routine on handy business cards? I'm amused... ;-)... | |
| . | . | ...or the stunt monk. :) | |
| . | . | And then, to top off his little favor spree, the sister pays up in cash... making them even already... | |
| . | . | ...And He ends up one more in the hole to Gina. ;-))) I suspect they'll see more of her in the future... (And I hope so, because Senta Moses is great, and I used to watch her in the improv troop at USC every Friday at lunch. [Thanks to Perri for helping me place the face-- Go Trojans! ;-] Happy to see she's getting work. ;-) | |
| *-22*? | I Win!!!!! ;-) He's *so* gonna run out at this rate, Deb... <g> Um, I mean, "My, he seems to be using a lot recently, don't you think?..." ;) |
||
| . Legalese |
|||
| . | . | Called in his favor from the supervising judge there. | |
| . | . | Barring any other evidence-- not to mention that wad of bills he was waving-- I'm going to assume that the "Free Suit Sweepstakes" was properly bought-and-paid-for. | |
| . | . | And, of course, he turned right over the favor he earned with his little client there. ;-) | |
| -23 | ...falling slower, but still falling... | ||
